The best shutdowns start weeks early. These are the situations that bring facilities to the phone before the window opens.

The work needs a full stop

Mechanical

Bearing changes, conveyor belt replacements, holdback device spring replacements, and other work that cannot happen while production runs.

The next shutdown should start from history: work orders, equipment records, verified procedures, and parts cross-references carry forward instead of living in memory.

01How far in advance should we plan a shutdown?

Lead time depends on scope, parts, access, crew and production constraints. Start with the known work list and window; feasibility and the required planning period are confirmed before the shutdown is accepted.

02Can you provide additional tradespeople for larger shutdowns?

Tell Relign what trades and crew size the shutdown requires. Additional trade support, qualifications and lead time are confirmed for the specific scope before the work is accepted.

03What industries need shutdown maintenance?

Any facility that runs continuous or near-continuous production and can't perform major maintenance during normal operation. This includes food and beverage plants, warehousing and logistics operations, lumber and wood products, manufacturing plants, and energy facilities. If your production schedule only allows maintenance during planned downtime windows, that's a shutdown.

04What work can be considered for a shutdown scope?

A proposed scope can include pumps, conveyor wear components, drives, dust collection, air dryers, rails and holdbacks. The accepted list depends on the equipment, available records, access, parts and trade requirements.
