The symptoms that point back to the air system

A compressor-room issue can show up as erratic operation at the point of use. These are useful symptoms to include in a service request.

Pressure drops

Symptom

The compressor is making 125 PSI but the tool only sees 90 PSI. The fix is usually distribution: dead legs, undersized piping, leaks — not a bigger compressor.

Moisture

Calgary winter makeup air can overload dryers, freeze outdoor air lines, corrode piping, and make pneumatic actuators behave erratically.

Carryover & cost

Oil / water

Separator carryover can coat FRL assemblies, clog solenoid valves, and create product-quality problems at the point of use.

Unknown leaks

A scoped survey can walk the distribution lines and tag observed leaks. Follow-up records and any preventive maintenance cadence are defined in the accepted work.

01How much do compressed air leaks cost?

Leak cost depends on pressure, orifice size, compressor efficiency and operating hours. A scoped survey can identify and tag observed leaks; projected savings require site measurements rather than a generic promise.

02How often should compressor oil and filters be changed?

Use the manufacturer interval together with run-hours, environment and observed condition. A service scope can include oil condition, filter differential pressure and separator observations where applicable.

03What brands of compressors do you service?

Provide the make, model, serial number and warranty status. Relign will confirm the supported mechanical scope and whether an authorized dealer or another specialist is required before work is accepted.

04Do you service pneumatic systems downstream of the compressor?

A request can include valve terminals, FRL assemblies and pneumatic cylinders at the point of use. The accepted scope must identify the system boundary and any electrical or controls responsibility.
